“Advancing peace between Muslims and Christians through mutual understanding and rigorous scholarship.” Among its activities, the Woodberry Institute director, Joseph Cumming, collaborates with the office of the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, to annually offer the Al-Azhar Seminar in Cairo, Egypt, with instruction from some of the most respected Muslim scholars in the world.
